I am now $8000 into this nightmare. I was misquoted for the appliance and felt pressured to order the $3000 mouthguard because I was in so much pain, didn't want to wait to feel better, or travel all the way back to Seattle again. I had my mouthguard adjusted several times (some appts I was charged for) because the pressure was terrible and it led to two cracked teeth which were resolved by root canals and crowns. I turned in the paperwork for insurance and the paperwork they sent was not enough and they have yet to send more info, so I will never get any money back from this process. I am left frustrated and feel defeated after going to who should be the experts and coming out of it in worse shape.

Dr Pehling is one smart guy. He made a nightguard for me that fixed my TMJ issue within two weeks of starting its use. He sees how my TMJ issue is just a part of a more complicated medical issue, and treats all of me, not just my jaw. I recommend him to others who have similar complaints.

Dr. Gupta and the entire staff are absolutely wonderful. Iβve gotten everything I needed since I started my treatment. They are kind, knowledgeable , and enjoyable to visit. 100% would never go anywhere else for tmj treatment. The only downside is being out of network- but they do that to ensure you get the care you need, so thatβs on our medical system, not them. They are worth every penny. Also the view is amazing!

I would like to begin by saying that, had my experience ended after receiving my initial TMJ appliance, this would have been a five-star review. Unfortunately, my experience with follow-up care significantly changed that impression. To provide context, here is a brief summary of the time and financial investment involved: June 2024: Initial visit Travel: Approximately 2 hours round trip per visit to the Seattle office Visits: 7 follow-up visits since June 2025 (the actual number is higher, but earlier appointments were on a work calendar I no longer have access to) Cost: Over $3,000 paid out of pocket, which includes 2β3 follow-up visits that I had to pay for out of pocket at around $150-$250 a visit. For several years prior to seeking care here, I had been dealing with persistent tooth pain, jaw pain, chipped teeth, worsening tinnitus, and other related symptoms. I initially raised concerns about my bite feeling "off" with my periodontist while being treated for a root canal, and I was referred to TMJ Orofacial Disorders based on other patientsβ positive experiences. From my very first visit-and repeatedly during nearly every follow-up appointment-I clearly communicated tha

My experiences with Dr. Jason Pehling and his staff have been extraordinary. I initially saw him for jaw and ear pain, which were causing me severe headaches. He fitted me for an appliance which greatly reduced my suffering. Not only is his work excellent but his demeanor and that of his staff is courteous and professional. He showed concern and sympathy for my situation. As specialty patients, we are fortunate to have someone as experienced and well qualified as Dr. Pehling so easily accessible. He has an appealing and well run office. I would not hesitate to recommend him wholeheartedly and will definitely return for my future needs.
